Starting a podcast might seem challenging enough, but then what about promotion? Of course you want to be discovered by listeners! Finding and connecting with your potential audience can seem daunting, but don’t worry: we’ve got seven easy ways for you to fuel your podcast promotion.

Tell Your Friends About Your Podcast

This may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s often the simplest of things that are overlooked! Your friends and family will probably be interested in hearing your new podcast, and they might even know some other people who would love listening to you! No matter what your podcast is about, your friends and family probably can all think of someone who is into whatever topics you cover.

Do Some Podcast Promotion on Social Media

Setting up social media pages for your podcast is another fundamental. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and others are all great places for new listeners to discover you. Additionally, they are convenient for regular listeners to stay up to date with your podcast. You don’t need to be on every social media platform – just think about where your ideal listeners hang out!

Connect with Other Podcasts

There’s a podcast out there somewhere that is looking for a guest and has a listener base who would love to hear from you. Putting yourself out there on other podcasts puts you right in front of people who already have an interest in podcasts, and is therefore a great way to get some free podcast promotion. Remember to pay it forward later on when someone asks to be a guest on your show!

Post on Your Website

If you already have a website, make sure that you post your episodes on it. Your website is already being found by people who are interested in its contents, so these users may be interested in what you have to say in audio form as well. If you don’t have a website, don’t worry about it – you can focus your efforts on other methods outlined here.

Advertise on Podcast Streaming Services

This is another way to hit people right where they are already listening to podcasts. Services such as Spotify allow you to run audio ads and have tools that allow you to make your own ad. Of course, we here at East Coast Studio can help you out with making an ad for podcast promotion!

Search Ads

Just like how products and services advertise on search engines, you can do the same thing for your podcast. There are certainly keywords that potential listeners of your podcast would be searching on Google or Bing. You can make your podcast appear when relevant keywords are searched by paying for ads.

Be Available on All Platforms

There are a lot of different services that people enjoy podcasts on. For example, while podcasts are usually audio-only, posting on YouTube is an option even for audio episodes. Is your episode solving a problem? Is it discussing a popular topic? These issues get searched on YouTube, so consider if your episode should be available on there. You need to be available wherever your listeners are.
